Dazzling Dogwoods

Applique your own Dogwood forest using Andi’s pattern. Learn to paint white flower petals and embellish with beads, ruching and other techniques.
Intermediate and above.
1 – 3 Days

Beginning Hand Applique

Basic needle-turn hand appliqué stitch is taught while working on a stress-free heart design. Learn how to handle innies and outies!
Beginning Level.

Beginning Hand Quilting

This class covers everything one needs to know in order to hand quilt. The quilting stitch is taught and all kinds of questions are answered that you always wanted to ask.
All Levels.

Stuff It!
Ultimate Hand Quilting, Stippling and Padded Work

This class will introduce you to a variety of stippling stitches, cording, padded work and stuffed work. These techniques add the ultimate interest and texture to a quilt! Knowledge of the basic hand quilting stitch is needed.
Intermediate to Advanced Levels. 1 Day

Circle of Illusion

Have fun watching your eye-popping circle of illusion come to life with Andi’s own pattern as seen on Simply Quilts (HGTV). A two-color, optical circle of illusion is deceptively simple to make. Machine sewing.
All Levels.

Make Your Own Garden

Have fun with your wildest imagination, paper and scissors to make your own templates for a garden or bouquet. Play with color and design elements you like. Use any method of appliqué with which you are comfortable.
All Levels.

Whigged Out on the West Coast

Make applique blocks using Andi’s patterns for “Whigged Out on the West Coast,” as seen in the QNM 2004 Wall Calendar. The block is appliquéd using the overlay method, so there are no marking lines on your quilt top! Stems, flowers and leaves and appliqué stitch are covered. Finishing the quilt using wavy sashings will be discussed. Pattern fee.

Finishing School

Bring your own unfinished quilt and learn how to finish it straight and square.
All Levels.

Fees

All new contracts require a minimum booking of two days, consisting of either a lecture and a workshop
OR 2 days of workshops.


Workshops:  $550/day. Price is for 20 students. Add $15 per person; up to 25 students maximum. Workshops contracted after June 2008 will be $600/day.
Lectures:  $300. Sponsor should provide a podium with light and microphone. A Kodak carousel projector or video projector needed for some lectures.

- Quilting Designs: Styles and Textures (projector needed)
Using Andi’s quilts as examples, learn about a variety of quilting motifs and possible ways to use them. Compares hand and machine quilting. Sponsor should provide a podium with light and microphone.

Travel Costs:
A per-mile driving fee is charged (current IRS rate) when area workshops or lectures are given. Overnight stays require room and board, but a private room in a non-smoking, non-pet-owner’s home is fine. Long distance travel requires airfare as well as transportation to and from the airport.
