Beginning Hand Applique

Supply List
No sewing machine needed.
- Fat quarter for background. Choose a fabric that provides enough contrast with your heart fabrics so that they “show.”
- Four to six different small pieces of fabric to make appliquéd hearts. These can be as small as 4” square, but should vary in size.
They should coordinate with each other and show up on your background fabric.
- #50 or #60 Mettler cotton threads to match heart fabrics.
- Applique Needle: Sharps or betweens
- Fine point pencil.
- Small pins
- Paper scissors
- Embroidery scissors
- Thimble if desired.
